Microwave Research & Destruction Party @ Theatre Bizarre

Last night's Theatre Bizarre party satisfied a curiosity that has been bothering me for years: What happens if you try to microwave a can of PBR? Well.... unfortunately, not a whole lot.

Over the course of the night, 12 microwaves were destroyed by zapping a variety of things mom told you to never put in the micro: light bulbs, steel wool, cellphones, etc.... all in the name of science, of course.

Toward the end of the night, A felt a bit fucko - maybe it was the microwaves seeping out into the atmosphere, frying his brain after a fire melted through the protective viewing pane of an early 90s model micro.

The grand finale involved a can of some highly combustible liquid, a microwave w/ glass removed, and a pellet gun.

The evening devolved into a sledgehammering orgy of microwave destruction....

A small photo gallery of the night can be found here.

Model 500 @ DEMF

So far the highlights of the festival weekend have been seeing Model 500 play at DEMF, and ending up at medical fetish party in the Eastern Market after most people had already split for the night. Having exhausted the supply of DJs and live acts, the night devolved into a scurrilous display of man's dominance over obsolete technology, and old computer monitors were thrown from the 3rd or 4th story roof to their demise. Sadly, there are no photos to share of the obsolete technology carnage.

Northland Roller Rink

Kenny Dixon Jr. hosted a roller rink jam after DEMF this year at the Northland Roller Rink. The place was packed and these muhfuthas can skate like hell. Easily one of the most entertaining DEMF after party I've been to.

demfing 07

The Detroit Electronic Music Festival, or the event more recently known as (bowel) Movement, is bringing out a high caliber of music aficionado these days. It's as if the collective world electronic music scene got sick, took giant shit, and left their mess in Hart Plaza.

Octave One was great at least.

And so was the Kenny Dixon Jr. Northland Roller Rink skate jam..... more on that tomorrow.
